The Makel Family Moving Saga Part 3

*Read Part 1 and 2 first or else you won't get it*

So the next day rolls around and my mom comments that she's 100% positive they're going to wait until like 8:59 to tell us they're backing out of the contract. So we spend the entire day, waiting. My aunt and uncle and cousins came over that night and the wait for 9 pm to see if these dumb people were going to back out of the contract or not was excruciating.

Then 8:47 comes, and our realtor calls, and we're all sure this is going to be the moment our moving plans are ruined.

So my parents go in the other room to talk to our realtor and by the time they come back out its after 9 pm. To make a long phone call short, our realtor talked to the realtor of the people buying our house. They're realtor let our realtor know that the people wanted an extra 2000 dollars back in closing or else they weren't going to buy our house. Our realtor, and they're realtor, were both fed up with these people so they agreed to split the $2000 between them to give it to the dumb people so that my parents wouldn't have to lose money and we could still move. Our realtor called my parents to tell them that if the people didn't get their $2000 they were backing out of the contract, BUT, as they were on the phone, it went past 9 pm and the buyers hadn't put in a written statement saying they were backing out meaning, THEY COULDN'T!

This was great! We got to move! Dumb people were forced to buy our house right?! WRONG!

So our realtor got off the phone with my parents to call the other realtor and say "you didn't put in a written statement saying they weren't buying the house so now its past 9 pm and they have to buy the house". But, plot twist, before our realtor called my parents, the other realtor had texted our realtor about the whole $2000 situation. The other realtor was trying to say that that text counted as a written statement saying her clients weren't buying the house! Surprise surprise, the situation wasn't going our way.

So our realtor didn't really believe that that even counted as an official written statement and decided to contact her attorney and find out but until then we didn't know what was going to happen.

Well. The next day, our realtors attorney said that the text didn't count as a written statement. This means that the dumb people have to buy our house now right???? NO!

They didn't care. They didn't want the house so they weren't going to show up for closing. Technically we could have sued them but nobody has time or money for that so my parents decided not to sue them. They did end up having to pay my parents back the Ernest money but that was it.

And now, for the third time, the M-Town house was going back up on the market. And the people who owned the B-City house we were trying to buy decided, for good reason, they no longer wanted us to buy their house.

We were back at square one. It was great. Stay tuned for what happens next. It just gets worse.
