The Makel Family Moving Saga Part 4 (The Final Part)

If you haven't read the first 3 parts of this saga I suggest you go do that now!

Hey guys!

We're back with part 4 of this moving saga and as I'm typing this my leopard gecko is staring deep into my soul and creeping me out. But anyway, lets continue...

So we put our house back up on the market for the 3rd time, and unlike the first two times, we didn't have any quick luck with selling our house. Between moving season starting to wind down, and also the fact that anybody who had been watching the market saw our house be put up and taken down 3 times now, it was hard to get somebody to put an offer on the house. After a couple of weeks we FINALLY got an offer, although we really didn't talk about it or celebrate it much because every time we had gotten excited about something in the last couple of months everything came crashing down.

So my parents accepted the offer and we went under contract and that was that. We decided as a family that we weren't really going to look into buying another house until we were pretty much in the clear with selling this house. That way, if these buyers also backed out at last minute, at least we weren't going to lose another house that we wanted to buy.

And like I said, moving season was really starting to wind down and the already pretty small market in B City was becoming incredibly smaller. There were 3 houses on the market that fit the majority of our criteria but after my parents went to look at them, we found that something was wrong with each one and none of them were the house we wanted.

Finally, about two weeks out from our closing down on our house in M Town, a house came on the market in B City that fit our criteria and we were excited to see. We were worried that the house would be too small but after seeing it in person we all fell in love. It had 4 bedrooms upstairs, plus a 5th bedroom in the basement. The master bedroom was absolutely stunning and the kitchen was beautiful as well. Plus it had a very nice sized, fenced in backyard and it was a brick exterior which is something that I personally really enjoy.

We all loved the house, so my parents put an offer on it.

A couple days later we rented a moving truck to move any furniture we had left in our M Town house out of it so that the buyers would be able to move in. Later that day, we got the news that our offer had been accepted on the B City house!

With only about a week and a half until closing on the M Town house and our offer being accepted on the B City house, we thought nothing could go wrong at this point and we were so excited because after months of agony we were finally, officially, moving! Or so we thought.

Of course, we thought wrong.

The next morning, I was laying in bed when my mom came in my room crying. She had lost her job.

My mom worked for the same company for 9 years and just last year, her bosses sold the company to a bigger, British company. Since then, my mom and her coworkers have been worried that they would be let go but a year had come and gone and they all still seemed to be secure in their jobs. Unfortunately, the new company decided to let all 4 of them go. Because my mom was no longer bringing in an income, we could no longer afford our loan or the house we had just gone into contract with. Basically, we couldn't move anymore.

Since we were only a little over a week away from closing on our M Town house at this point, there wasn't much we could do as far as getting that house back and we knew we were going to have to continue to sell it. Meaning, we were stuck living with my grandparents.

And that's where we are now! For the last month my mom has been applying to various jobs and as soon as she gets hired we will be able to start looking at houses and moving again. This whole situation has been incredibly frustrating and upsetting. Of course, we are all so thankful to my grandparents for giving up so much of their home to let us all live here. Things will work out eventually, but man this whole move has been crazy.

I hope you guys enjoyed our moving saga! I haven't enjoyed it at all but it is a crazy story!

Until next time,
Kylie
